Skilled Trades 1201 Course Outline
Skilled Trades
1201 is an introduction to the designated trades in this province and the
inter-provincial Red Seal trades. It
looks briefly at the structure of the trades, including the formal schooling aspect
of cross-trade courses, and trade specific. Some time is spent with technical
drawings, one of the key cross-trade components. A significant part of the
course focuses on the following 6 construction related trades: Carpentry,
Residential Electrician, Plumber, Lather, Painter-Decorator, and Sheet-metal
Worker. Students examine each trade and
develop rudimentary knowledge and skill. A construction project that spans all
six trades serves to emulate some aspect of on the job experiences
