Drywall Instructions
Step 1:
Remove all nails and screws from your section (based on skilled trades slot) Step 2: With the measuring tape, measure the back wall and the side wall. Step 3: Plan to have FOUR pieces of drywall; two on the side and two pieces of drywall on the back. Step 4: With a square and with an utility knife gently pressed straight down on the drywall outline the measurements of the side wall. Remember you have to use a square to make sure the lines are straight. Also remember you need to have two pieces of drywall for both the side wall and for the back wall. (Marks will be given on how to plaster both pieces of drywall together) |
Step 5:
Measure the back wall. Like the side wall, use the square and cut two pieces to be placed along the back wall. Remember to use the square!
Step 6:
You need to cut around the receptacle box. Measure the distance from the side of the wall to the receptacle box and from the top (or bottom) of the wall to the receptacle box. It is very important not to cut the drywall next to the wall. You need to cut out a square in the drywall. The drywall needs support of its original drywall to ensure all the drywall is flush.
